The Chevrolet Cobalt may be dead in the States where it was successfully replaced by the Cruze sedan, but the nameplate lives on in the rest of the world.

In addition to Brazil, which is the first country to receive the new Chevrolet Cobalt, the car will be produced in three more factories around the world, though GM did not disclose any more details on the locations.

2011 SEMA: Hyundai Showcases 450HP Genesis Coupe Hurricane SC [Video]

If you found Rhys Millen's 5.0-liter V8-powered Genesis Coupe a little bit over the top, you may want to take a look at a supercharged prototype based on the V6 model that also made its debut at the Las Vegas SEMA Show.

Named the Genesis Coupe Hurricane SC, the prototype is the result of a two year development effort of Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI) in cooperation with Magnuson Products, Rhys Millen Racing, Harman International and Torvec Inc.

“One of the many exciting aspects of this project is that the Genesis Hurricane SC is not just another pretty face for the show circuit, but rather it is a hard working lab-rat that will push the bounds of this car and the whole vehicle segment," said Terry Peddicord, director of sales at Magnuson Products.

Peugeot Officially Unveils New 208 Supermini Ahead of Spring 2012 Launch [Photos and Video]

After yesterday’s leak of the first pictures of the new Peugeot 208, the French company went ahead and officially revealed its brand-new supermini that will replace the current 207 series.

The A9 project, which is the new 208’s internal designation, is very important for Peugeot as it will compete in the highly competitive European B-segment rivaling the likes of the Ford Fiesta and Toyota Yaris.

Its significance for Peugeot is evident in the marketing tag applied by the company's management: “Re-Generation”. The French firm's Marketing and Communications Director, Xavier Peugeot, said: “The 208 is a new illustration of the marque’s project launched two years ago, representing a new stage in Peugeot’s desire to drive itself towards even greater modernity.”

All-New MINI Roadster Makes its Official Debut, wants to Challenge the MX-5 [254 Photos]

As is the case with the Coupe, the Roadster is based on the current Mini hatchback so it doesn't come to much of a surprise that its dimensions largely mirror those of the Mini Convertible at 3,734mm long, 1,683mm wide and 1,390mm tall.

Il Monstro: 1990 Alfa Romeo SZ with 22,400 miles goes Under the Hammer

The Alfa Romeo 75 is remembered as the last rear-wheel drive sedan to be produced by the Milanese brand. Yet, its claim to glory is much bigger than that as the 75 underpinned one the most bizarre Alfa Romeos to date: the SZ.

Initially presented as a Zagato concept at the 1987 Geneva Motor Show, the ES30 (Experimental Sports 3.0-liter), as was its internal designation, debuted in production form at the same show two years later as the SZ, which stands for Sports Zagato.

And it caused quite a commotion, thanks to its angular styling and angry looks. Some 25 years later, the SZ's exterior styling is still divisive, but nevertheless, it does stand out from the crowd…

It was available in one trim level in a red color with a dark-grey roof and tan leather interior – save for one example finished in black that was built exclusively for Andrea Zagato himself.

Audi Presents Facelifted Versions of 2013MY A4, A4 Allroad and S4 Models

Have you ever heard about Audi's 360o design philosophy? Well, allow us to explain with an example. In its more recent incarnation, it goes something like this: the latest A4 [B8] provided the styling guidelines for the creation of the new 2011MY A8 which itself inspired the design of the new 2012MY A6, which has now become the inspiration for the updated A4…

So that probably gives you an idea about the styling changes for the 2013MY Audi A4 in both sedan and Avant forms as well as its S4 and A4 Allroad Quattro siblings.

In a similar fashion to the recently updated A5/S5 models, the refreshed A4s gain Audi's new six-point grille and sharper looking headlamps with LED daytime running lights that form a narrow band, redesigned front and rear bumpers, plus tweaked tail lights that reflect the shape of the head lights and come with LED strips.

New Lancia Thema Sedan Available in Europe [Gallery with 67 Photos]

On Wednesday, Lancia made its new Thema sedan available in the European market.

The Italian firm's first full-size saloon model after the ill-fated Thesis was discontinued in 2009, is one of two models to emerge from the alliance between Lancia and Chrysler, the other one being the Town & Country-based Voyager MPV.

The Thema is in essence a Chrysler 300 wearing Lancia badges and as such, it was an easy and cheap solution for the Fiat Group to expand Lancia's range upwards without sinking valuable resources into the brand that was once famous for its achievements in the World Rally scene.

Holden Goes Back to the Future to Restore its First Concept Model, the 1969 Hurricane

Most people around the world know Holden for building the 2000s Monaro coupe and Commodore sedans but the Australian company that became a GM subsidiary in 1931 has a rich history that goes well beyond those two models.

In 1969, the Melbourne-headquartered automaker presented its first ever concept model, the Hurricane, codenamed RD 001. It was a futuristic research vehicle described by the company at the time as an experiment “to study design trend, propulsion systems and other long-range developments”.

Some four decades years after it captured the headlines at the 1969 Melbourne Motor Show, and Holden decided it was time to restore the historic concept back to its original condition and showcase it to the public once again.

BMW Reveals Sixth Generation of 3-Series Sedan [Full Details and 140+ Photos]

It’s official; as promised, BMW unveiled today the brand-new 3-Series codenamed F30. The sixth generation of its compact luxury sedan, which in its five iterations since its launch in 1975 has sold more than 12 million units becoming the standard in its category, will be available to markets worldwide from February 11, 2012.

According to BMW’s CEO, Norbert Reithofer, the new 3-Series is “the sportiest car in its segment and offers sheer driving pleasure at the highest level”.

The sixth generation mid-size BMW has grown considerably compared to its predecessor. It is 93 mm longer and an augmented wheelbase at 2,810 mm (+50mm) as well as wider front (+37 mm) and rear (+47 mm) tracks. The increase in dimensions promises to address one of the model’s disadvantages compared to the competition, namely that of rear passenger space.

The new model now offers 15 mm more legroom and 8 mm more headroom for rear seat passengers. Yet, despite the increase in size, numerous weight saving measures help make the new 3-Series up to 40 kg (88 lb) lighter than the model it replaces (depending on the version).

Organization wants NYC's Central Park Carriage -Horse Operators to Trade in Mr. Ed for Mr. EV

NY-Class is a not-for-profit organization on a mission to replace the Big Apple’s venerable (though some say inhumane) carriage-horse industry with clean, electric-drive “show cars”.

These “21st Century Horseless Carriage” may look like something from the turn of the twentieth century, but behind the white walls and running boards sit five modern lithium-ion battery packs good for 8 to 10 hours travel time on a 2 to 3 hour charge.

NY-Class – an acronym for New Yorkers for Clean, Livable And Safe Streets – commissioned the Fort Lauderdale, FL based Creative Workshop to produce a two-foot-long model of their proposal. The lime-green miniature is said to have cost US$12,500 (€9,335), which is an achievement in itself.
